Easy DIY beauty and grooming hacks for all
To Detox Your Pores
If you’re looking to nix pores, you’ll love this 1-ingredient skincare hack using… Egg whites – yup, Im serious! They’ve been used in skincare for centuries thanks to their deep cleansing properties that’ll help tighten and de-gunk your pores. In fact, just one egg is packed with 3.6 grams of protein, meaning it also helps strengthen the skin and protect against damaging free radicals.
The final result? Tightened pores and softer, smoother skin in 15 minutes! We love to do this before an event, or you know, before an important video call.
Coconut Oil
Not only is coconut oil an amazing makeup remover, it’s also a great cleanser!
Scoop a little bit onto your fingers and spread onto your face. Wipe off with a cotton pad and you’ll see the makeup come right off!
What I love about coconut oil is that it’s moisturizing, and it also helps remove the appearance of scars and improve the texture of your skin.
Baking Soda
Use Baking Soda to Wash Your Hair
You heard right! This recipe works well without stripping your hair of all the natural good stuff - you know, natural oils etc. which your hair and scalp actually need. Mix 1 part baking soda with 3 parts water.
Apply to your hair starting at the roots and working towards the ends. Let sit for 1 – 3 minutes and then rinse. Cooler water is preferable for rinsing your hair to retain shine.
Sea Salt Hair Detox
If your hair is looking a bit limp or dull, it could be due to hair product build up. One of the easiest fixes for build up is to add a small handful of sea salt / Himalayan Sea salt to your regular shampoo! The salt will help dissolve and scrub away residue from your hair products, leaving your hair clean and super soft.
Gelatine
This is one of those incredibly unique beauty hacks. Gelatine is typically used for baking – but you can create a face mask or pore strips with it too!
Use 1 tablespoon unflavoured gelatine and combine with 2 tablespoons milk. Combine until chunky then spread on. Let dry for 15 minutes and then peel off.
Baby Powder for Volume Lashes
Just curl those bad boys, dust them with baby powder, and roll out with your mascara. You’ll have nice and thick eyelashes in a flash.
Heat up your lash curler with a hairdryer to curl your lashes even more.
Dry Shampoo
Looking a little gross around the edges but have no time for a shower? Or does your hair just need a bit of a refresher?
Sprinkle some baby powder or corn starch on the desired area and comb or rub it into your hair. Tada! Refreshed! Cocoa Powder for Brunette’s and Baby Powder for Platinum Blondes
Razor cuts
It’s not hard to nick yourself shaving! It can be hard to stop the bleeding sometimes.
But there’s an easy way to do it: simply dab a bit of Chapstick on the area. Not only does it soothe the wound, but it prevents further bleeding.
Turmeric Powder
If the cut is borderline 911 put Turmeric powder on it this will stop the bleeding, and Turmeric has a anti inflammatory properties which is great.
